The Vault
Choose Vault under Your Atlas, or the shield in the title bar. On the left, All credentials shows everything; below it each vault you have made. Search with Search credentials.
- All credentials, then each vault.
- New vault makes a vault to group credentials.
- Add credential starts the protected entry.
- A credential: open it to verify or delete.
Add a credential
- If you have no vault yet, choose New vault, give it a name and choose Create.
- Choose Add credential.
- Choose the vault and the provider, type the environment (for example "Development") and choose Continue.
- The protected Atlas Mind Vault window opens. Enter the key there and approve it.
Your key goes straight into the protected window and is never typed into the app itself, a chat or a note.
If Add credential is greyed out, point at it to see why: the vault may not be ready, another confirmation may be waiting, or you need to create a vault first.
Check or delete a credential
Choose a credential to see its vault, environment and status. Verify asks the provider to check it; Delete… removes it. Each one is confirmed in the protected Vault window, and the app shows "Waiting for approval…" until you do.
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Stored · not yet verified | Saved. Choose Verify to check it with the provider. |
| Provider accepted this credential | It works. |
| Not approved | The change was declined in the Vault window. Nothing changed. |
| Outcome unknown · check before retrying | Atlas could not tell whether it finished. Look in the Vault window before you try again. |
AI apps
Choose AI apps on the Vault page to let your AI apps use the vault.
- Allow requests from AI apps lets them ask for a credential while Atlas is open. It turns off when Atlas closes.
- Under Use the vault in your AI apps, choose Set up, then add the vault to each app or remove it.
To install Atlas in an AI app or sign in to one, open Settings, then AI apps. Each row shows its next step: Install, Sign in, Install Atlas or Finish installing Atlas. Remove asks first and says what it will take away.
Models and keys
Use a model directly with your own API key.
- Open Settings, then Models and keys, and choose Add a model.
- Choose the Provider and the Model. Not listed? Choose Another model… and type its name.
- Paste the API key and choose Add.
- Atlas stores the key and checks it with the provider. When it says the model is ready, you can choose it in a chat.
The key is kept in your Mac's credential store and sent only to that provider. Each model has Verify and Remove; removing it makes Atlas forget its key.
If the Vault is not available
