Panels beside a conversation

The icons down the right of an open chat or room open panels beside the conversation, so you can look at a site, pick files, watch an agent's terminal, choose connections and set up automations without leaving it.

The panel icons

The icons appear only beside an open conversation, not on the Chat and Rooms home or the full lists. One panel is open at a time, and opening a panel closes Details.

  1. The icons: Browser, Files, Terminal, Integrations and Automations, top to bottom.
  2. The open panel, here Files.
  3. Attach puts the files you picked on your message.
  4. The message bar, where attached files wait above your words.

Automations appears for chats and for rooms in the project you have open.

Browser

Shows a site running on your Mac, or a file an agent has written, beside the conversation.

  1. Start your site the way you normally do, for example with your project's development server.
  2. Choose the Browser icon and type the site's address, such as http://127.0.0.1:5173, in Type a URL. While you are in the Browser, ⌘ L goes to the address.
  3. Use Reload (⌘ R in the Browser), Zoom in and Zoom out as you work. Close the browser closes the site; your site keeps running.

Sites you opened before are listed while nothing is open. Switch between File and Site to look at a file instead. When agents write files the panel opens on its own and Latest files lists them. If a file changed again since you opened it, the panel says so; read it again to see the change.

Good to know

The Browser shows sites on your own Mac, not public websites. It does not start your site for you.

Files

Your asset library, with the tabs All, Media, Files and Buckets, and a search box.

  1. Choose View asset library. The panel shows your files as pictures to pick from.
  2. Pick one or more files, then choose Attach. The files sit above your message, each with a Remove button.
  3. Send. The agents in the conversation are told where each file is kept so they can open it.

To add new files to the library, choose Upload or drop files on the window while the panel is open. See Assets for the library itself.

Terminal

Lets you watch an agent work. Choose the Terminal icon; Running terminals lists each agent run with a Running or Ended label. Choose one to see its live terminal.

  • Interrupt stops the agent's current turn.
  • Stop stops the agent.
  • Close closes the view. The agent keeps running.

If an agent asks for permission, the terminal says so; answer it there.

Integrations

Shows the services you have connected and decides which of them the agents in this conversation may use.

  • Connected lists your services. One marked Needs you must be reconnected on the Integrations page.
  • Connect lets you search for a service and choose Connect. You finish signing in to the service in your browser; the list updates when you come back. A service that needs more detail first offers Set up.
  • In this chat has a switch for each connected service, and Allow every integration. Open Atlas's tools to choose which of Atlas's own tools the agents may use, or Allow every tool.

What this chat allows

A chat can only narrow what its project already allows. It never adds to it.

Automations

Automations that run in this conversation, with the same agents, on a schedule.

  1. Choose New automation and say what should run, and when, in What, and when?. For example: "Every weekday at 08:00, summarise the new issues".
  2. Choose Ask in this chat. Your request is written into the message bar; choose who gets it and send.
  3. The agent proposes the automation and it appears in the panel as Waiting for you.
  4. Choose Turn on and decide what each run may do without asking you.
LeastDraft only

Prepares the work and changes nothing.

In betweenAsk me first

Asks you before it changes anything.

MostGo ahead

Acts within what this chat may use.

  • Run now starts one run. Pressing it again while you wait does not start a second.
  • Pause and Resume stop and restart the schedule.
  • A run that left you a draft or a question shows Draft waiting or Question waiting. Choose Seen once you have dealt with it.

To change an automation's instructions or schedule, or delete it, use the Automations page.
