Recall and the Mind

Your Mind keeps what your projects hold. Recall finds it from anywhere in the app, and the Mind page lets you look through it, add to it and tidy it.

Recall

Press ⌘ K, or choose Recall in the sidebar. It opens over the page you are on, so you do not lose your place.

  1. Choose a project

    Recall searches one project's Mind at a time.

  2. Narrow it

    Add a kind: Memories, Decisions, Reasoning, Evidence, Tasks or Files.

  3. Type

    Results come from your work in the project and its files.

  4. Open

    The result opens in the Mind, the file preview or its room.

  • Type in Search, or type a project or kind…. Choosing a project or kind adds it as a filter chip.
  • Use ↑ and ↓ to move through results and ↵ to open one. ⌫ in an empty field removes the last filter.
  • Esc or ⌘ K closes Recall and returns you to your work.

If Recall says "Nothing remembered in" a project yet, bring its files in with Update the Mind on the Files page, and keep working there.

The Mind page

The Mind page opens when you choose a result in Recall, or from a file's Memory tab. Your projects are listed on the left.

  1. Projects: choose one, or look across all of them.
  2. Web or List: two ways to look at the same records.
  3. New memory and New decision add your own, in the open project.
  4. The web: records, and the links between them.
  • Web draws your records and how they connect. Choose Key to see what each mark and link means, and who made it: you, agents, Atlas or a suggestion. Choose an entry in the key to show only that.
  • List shows Memories, Decisions, Tasks, Evidence, Reasoning and Links. Filter memories by All, Held, Candidates, No longer held or Disputed.
  • Find in the Mind searches what you see.
  • Choose a record to see it beside the web. Details shows the chosen project and what needs you.

Add to and tidy your Mind

With a project open you can add a memory or a decision yourself. A record's actions let you edit it, approve it, revisit a decision, link it to another record or confirm that it still holds. ⌘ ↵ saves while you write.

The project pane shows what Needs you: records waiting for your approval, disputes, decisions due for review, evidence to check again and notes to organise. Only what has something waiting is listed, otherwise it says "Nothing waiting". Choose one to see those records. Nothing is changed until you choose.
